Even though employers expect to hire 22% fewer recent college graduates it does not make finding a job impossible.  It will make competition for jobs very competitive.  Graduates should begin with a self assessment of what they really do well.  Align those skills with several job targets.  Next, utilize college and favorite professors to find employment and write letters of recommendation. Use information on this site to prepare a strong resume and cover letter.  Prepare brief but persuasive materials such as interview thank you letters, a list of personal accomplishments and reference sheet.  Research the job market.  Find out which entities are receiving stimulus funding, which businesses have an upswing in profits or are replacing permanent help with temporary help.
